$ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas (BOIL.US)$ How many people are holding this etf wishing for it to spike back to their cost basis.  But the lower it goes when if a spike happens you lucky to get back to your cost basis.  How long can you watch you investment go down

$ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas (BOIL.US)$ I'll say it again.  The weather and inventory doesn't matter much unless you get lucky to get in before good news.  People think I'm stupid for saying that but don't know how the etf is structured.   They want to call me out yet don't know what future contango decay and leveraged decay are and how the fund hold the future 3 months out and rolls it every 2 months to the next 3 month out futures.  currently the fund is linked to the March future. w...

$ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas (BOIL.US)$ If I haven't convinced you enough over last few weeks Google Boil a deeply flawed etf.

$ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas (BOIL.US)$ Boil follows the Bloomberg Natural Gas subindex but 2x.   The index holds futures that roll every 6 to 8 weeks.  when it rolls the future curve is typically in cantango.   so they sell current future for less than they but forward future.  That's why this fund will always go down unless you get lucky enough to jump in when there's good news from inventory.  I will never own this etf again.  only short it with options
