CICC: Maintains the "outperform" rating on BOC Hong Kong, target price raised to HK$29.53.
CICC released a research report stating that it maintains a 'outperform industry' rating for BOC Hong Kong (02388), due to the significant improvement in the company's ROE and the alleviation of asset quality concerns, raising the target price by 4.7% to 29.53 Hong Kong dollars. The company's 1H24 performance slightly exceeded the bank's expectations. The current company valuation is still at a historically low level, with the bank believing that the discount mainly comes from market concerns about the Hong Kong economy and asset quality. With the approaching interest rate cut cycle in the USA, the warming of the macroeconomy and market sentiment in China and Hong Kong is expected to drive an increase in the company's valuation. CICC's main points are as follows: the net interest margin performs well, with loans maintaining relative stability since the beginning of the year.

152398743 : looks like Microsoft has been pretty relevant throughout. which is kinda amazing for a company that after all is said and done, produces mediocre software, has a long list of false starts, from Microsoft Bob, to Windows Vista to Bing, and now I think Copilot (not the code assistant, but that privacy invading nightmare that takes screenshots every 10 seconds or something). I really don't know how they make money unless it's off the back of Azure. their OS sales can't really be that much, especially considering it's really only useful as a Gaming OS nowadays
