RandomTrader_ : Insurance companies all down cuz of the Pasadena fires. whole sector down therefore BRK B is going down as well
HYGWE OP RandomTrader_ : how big will Berkshire insurance business payout is expected?
RandomTrader_ HYGWE OP : I do not know the exact figures but judging it from a percentage drop basis as compared to other insurance companies like $Chubb Ltd (CB.US)$, I would say low in the hundred millions and high side in the billions? since the fire is estimated to cost about $60 billion in damages and insurance companies are estimated to payout about 30-35% of the damages. (pls take this as guidelines, nfa)
HYGWE OP RandomTrader_ : thanks for insights..
Badun HYGWE OP : Berkshire's insurance company has a very, very small market share in California's home insurance.
