you have to ask yourself who is profitable because microstrategy is cash flow negative microstrategy by design dilutes shareholders. coinbase is very similar to what ice was in its early days. it's an exchange there's transactional volume the more transactions the more money they make. I know the argument Banks potentially have the ability to store an offer Bitcoin or ethereum down the road that's the end game goal and the potentially could take business away from them but they are still one of the largest next to binance as an example and as the adaptation for crypto accelerates in time their presence will become larger and larger it's not going to be your local credit union down the street that you buy your Bitcoin or ethereum from although they may have that ability to do so or store it or transact it. all that does is accelerates the adaptation when banks have the ability to transact Bitcoin ethereum other cryptocurrencies if they choose to it just makes the largest companies that are publicly traded now get even larger. so if you believe Bitcoin is going to go to 100,000 or 110 coinbase profits are going to go up dramatically if Bitcoin goes to $150,000 coinbase profits are going to go up dramatically. meanwhile microstrategy will continue to sell stock at the market which dilutes shareholders so if you're going to value microstrategy as a treasury of Bitcoin which is the verbiage that Michael Saylor uses, then you're looking at book value of the Bitcoin they hold relative to the number of shares outstanding in the float. there's also going to come a time where you will have continual devaluation of that premium which is called Vol. that volatility premium historically in years past was as high as 300% so the Bitcoin of microstrategy held traded at a 3X premium to spot last year it was 2X or 200% premium and the most recent conference call it's down to 75% premium well that will continue to erode and it may only wind up being 10 or percent or 15% over actual spot but what that means is as Bitcoin rallies microstrategy legs or is Bitcoin falls microstrategy drops further or combination. which gets you back to the original point if you want to buy Bitcoin you just buy Bitcoin directly because you can't be diluted that way you can be with microstrategy because you are he is the ability to offer 30 billion shares to dilute shareholders and buy Bitcoin and I've said it a dozen times if I said it once if he issues just 1 billion shares and Bitcoin goes to a million dollars when you do basic math the value of the Bitcoin per share in the future at a million dollars is worth less than today that's dilution if Bitcoin goes to a million dollars coinbase I don't know it'll be $10,000 a share, it's going to be way the hell up because their profits from transactions will have gone up a thousand times over by that point maybe 10,000 times over

banks need to first change their dna into a tech company to start crypto services. there’s a lot of legacy mindset which must go away.

you're absolutely correct, you'll have companies like SoFi to lead the pack and when profits start coming their way other banks will gradually migrate because they don't want to miss out...

:
I'm opening up a lemonade stand. if somebody would like to invest a million dollars I would gladly accept it. I will offer a 5% return on a monthly basis of your principal. there's no guarantees that your principal will be entirely returned but I need the money for expansion. I'm going to be hiring a lot of government workers so it takes at least 10 government workers to squeeze a lemon and then at least another two dozen to figure out how to weigh one teaspoon of sugar per cup so I have a big payroll I have to deal with.
