Samsung Electronics is recalling more than 1.12 million electromagnetic ovens in the United States, after receiving 250 reports of fire and causing dozens of injuries. According to a notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday, these slide-in induction ovens have front-mounted knobs that could accidentally turn on if touched or bumped by humans or pets, posing a fire hazard. CPSC pointed out that since 2013, Samsung has received more than 300 reports of accidental activation of front-mounted knobs, and the recalled products involve about 250 incidents of fire. The committee stated that at least 18 of the fires caused serious injuries.
