Zhitong Finance learned from the app that the European Commission announced on Monday that it has fined US company International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF.US) and its French subsidiary 15.9 million euros (17.05 million US dollars) for obstructing an investigation into the conspiracy to manipulate the supply of flavors and fragrance ingredients. The European Commission stated: "During the inspection period (March 2023), a senior employee of International Flavors & Fragrances deliberately deleted WhatsApp messages exchanged with competitors." After being discovered, International Flavors & Fragrances immediately admitted the fact and actively cooperated during and after the inspection.
