The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced on Friday that more than 23% of oil and 10% of natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico has been halted due to Hurricane "Raphael." Offshore regulatory institutions have indicated that energy producers - including BP plc, Chevron Corporation, Equinor, and Shell Oil Company - have evacuated from several offshore production platforms. This means that the daily production of 408,830 barrels of oil and nearly 0.201 billion cubic feet of natural gas in the Gulf of Mexico has been forced to stop.
