USA electric autos market shuffle, tesla (TSLA.US) struggles to keep its dominance.
According to the sales data provider Marklines in the automotive industry, Tesla (TSLA.US) is about to lose a key record it has held for the past six years: it sold more electric vehicles in the United States than all of its competitors combined. According to the latest data, in the 12 months ending in May of this year, Tesla sold about 618,000 electric vehicles in the United States, while other manufacturers sold only about 597,000 pure electric vehicles. Next week, auto manufacturers such as General Motors (GM.US), Hyundai, and its affiliate Kia will begin to report their sales for the second quarter.
