72155797 : Great post. Also don't forget that they will sometimes go into places like trading groups and reddit and other forums and pump a stock along with all of these tactics.
This_Guy OP 72155797 : Yes, this is very common and is now a part of the stock market and also can fall under social sentiment. There are countless forms of this including X (twitter) accounts with large followings. They are everywhere actually even WhatsApp app. telegram etc etc, and most social apps. I may cover it in a post but for now am focusing on the techniques used which will help people either A) avoid them b) trade with them and make money IF YOU DON'T CHASE THEM.
And to add to this, stocks are still manipulated without the involvement of social (trading) groups. The safest are stocks with news. However, with that said, fake news gets released and the ones with real news can also be manipulated.
Inner Yo : This Guy … with the most community-minded post that I have seen in a long, long time!
MonkeyGee : Don't think of doing this as a retail trader. MM would take your shares even if it didn't hit that price. They would say that is how the market works. I ignore level 2 data detail.
Stock_Drift : To help detect manipulation: Traders and Investors can look for large buy or sell orders that are not fulfilled. You can also analyze bid and ask patterns alongside transactional trading data.
