Coach Donnie OP : Some ‘do’s’ and ‘don’t’s’:
Do:
- Read, study, listen and learn daily. Information is power, use it to advantage.
- Ask questions! It’s silly to be shy, there are eight billion of us, and we are ALL learning.
- Buy ETFs at least 80% of your portfolio (like SPLG FTEC FHLC FSKAX VOO VGT). You don’t have to be the expert with ETFs.
- Build a base in shares through DCA or an allotment strategy using income (perhaps to weight more on equities that are down in a given moment). DCA is recommended.
- Whether growth or value, invest in that which has promise of greater comparative returns. Growth is recommended unless you’re at retirement enjoyment protection phase.
- Know yourself. Focus on strengths and mitigate weakness, be who you are.
Don’t:
- Buy individual stocks only, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing. Hedge your bet with ETFs, Real Estate when the Cash on Cash return makes sense, Gold and Silver, Businesses, other assets.
- Overleverage, Overbuy, Overtrade. Only make a move based strong conviction.
- Forget that there is always an opportunity.
- Blindly follow others. Getting ideas is great, be sure to conduct your own due diligence as well.
- Be afraid to ‘lose’ sometimes. That is part of this exercise; accept that and move on.
- Overleverage. Stay within a safe zone and build over time.

Oct 3 (Reuters) - Cisco Systems (CSCO.NaE) is set to invest in CoreWeave, valuing the cloud services provider at $23 billion, according to a Bloomberg News report on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Nvidia (NVDA.NaE)-backed CoreWeave has partnerships with AI startups and competing cloud providers to build clusters designed to power AI workloads.
CoreWeave had discussed a secondary transaction that would allow existing shareholders to sell up to $500 million worth of shares, Bloomberg News reported in September.
A boom in artificial intelligence applications such as ChatGPT and training of large language models have boosted demand for cloud-computing services.
Big tech firms have been investing heavily to bolster infrastructure to support the development of AI.
Cisco (CSCO.NaE) did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment, while CoreWeave declined comment.

With over 33,000 megawatts of generation capacity, including nuclear, CEG is leading the charge. Shares have surged 125.55% YTD after plans to restart the Three Mile Island plant were announced. Accordingly, Constellation is to Unit 1 of the nuclear plant to provide electricity to power Microsoft’s data centers. The 20-year deal is part of Microsoft’s effort to reduce its carbon footprint
* SMR NuScale Power Corp SMR
Specializing in small modular reactors (SMRs), NuScale offers an affordable, scalable solution for nuclear power. Its shares are up nearly 270% YTD, benefiting from growing interest in compact nuclear energy options.
* LEU Centrus Energy Corp LEU
Centrus, a key supplier of nuclear fuel, recently inked a long-term deal with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. This strategic move has bolstered its stock by 60% over the past three weeks.
