On Friday, the 12th day of the "OpenAI 12-Day Event," OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced its latest AI "reasoning" models o3 and o3-mini, which are developed based on the o1 model introduced earlier this year. The company has not yet released these models, but they will be made available today for public safety testing and research. These models use what OpenAI calls "private thought chains," where the model pauses to check its internal dialogue and plans ahead before responding, which can be referred to as "simulated reasoning" (SR), a form of reasoning that goes beyond.

According to a new report from the Chamber of Progress, an industry organization representing Technology companies in the USA, the online experience for users in Europe faces further degradation due to the EU's Digital Markets Act. This law prohibits companies like Google and Apple from facilitating their products by linking them to so-called core platform services like Google Search. The organization stated, "Google can no longer seamlessly integrate its product suite (such as Google Maps, flights, and hotels) into a single search result, which will force users to browse multiple websites and applications, making users perform the task again in a simplified manner." The report stated.
