CICC: The market still needs to price in a "shallow rate cut + soft landing" cycle. Next year, STANCHART is the preferred choice for Hong Kong banks.
CICC released a research report stating that as of yesterday (30th), the Hong Kong Based Banks and the Hang Seng Index covered by the bank recorded increases of 31% and 18% respectively this year, with Hong Kong banks outperforming the market for the fourth consecutive year. CICC believes that compared to interest rate trends, macroeconomic expectations and the banks' own performance are the main factors influencing stock prices, and therefore one should not invest in Hong Kong banks with the rigid thinking of 'interest rate hikes are beneficial for banks, and interest rate cuts are detrimental to banks.' The bank stated that Banks are a cyclical Industry, thus during a rate cut cycle driven by improved macroeconomic expectations, Hong Kong bank stock prices often outperform, with different Banks showing distinct performances in this cycle.

Friedrich: Maintains boc hong kong "buy" rating, target price raised to 27 Hong Kong dollars.
Futu Research released a research report maintaining a "buy" rating on BOC Hong Kong (02388), with the target price raised from 26.5 Hong Kong dollars to 27 Hong Kong dollars. The bank remains bullish on international banks Stanchart (02888) and HSBC Holdings (00005), followed by Singapore banks more than Hong Kong silver. In addition, the bank expects that the most favorable interest rates will fall to 5% in the first quarter of next year, maintaining caution on asset quality. The bank pointed out that BOC Hong Kong's performance in the third quarter confirmed its view that market expectations were too conservative. Although uncertainty may limit the short-term PE ratio potential, the medium-term outlook remains relatively robust.
