sean lys : they (US) don't have any other choice. Intel is the only company that have the IP in chip design as well as lithography technology. the biggest mistakes they made is their arrogance. Being the biggest chip company for decades without challenge certainly brought them to where they are today. I just hope they hire enough hard working Asian engineers to do rotational shift to make sure their chip yields stay on top.

sean lys 股勇者 : agree. but the reason why TSMC is miles ahead of everyone else is because Taiwanese engineers literally sacrifice their health, personal life and even family just to keep the machine on checked and running at full capacity.  Working in TSMC is the highest goal for all electronic engineers in Taiwan. It pays well and gives the staffs a sense of security. so TSMC can always find the brightest mind and the hardest working dudes who doesn't complain and create drama like American spoiled workers who always wanted work life balance. Let's be real, you can't achieve greatness while maintaining a relax life style.
