The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the USA stated on Sunday local time that fresh carrots sold by several large food and grocery retailers in 18 states in the USA have been infected with E. coli, causing one death and at least 39 illnesses. The CDC said in a statement that these infections are related to whole bags of carrots and baby carrots sold by Grimmway Farms in California. Walmart, Target, the Kroger, amazon-owned Whole Foods Market, and Trader Joe's stores sell this type of carrot under various brands. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the USA stated that these carrots are unlikely to still be on sale.
