10baggerbamm : so tomorrow will probably be the last day of the rebalancing for mutual funds and hedge funds and ETFs that are specifically bound not to have an equity exceed a certain percent of the portfolio at the end of a quarter. so a lot of the selling start with Nvidia right at the top of the list has been because posts split it ran up significantly and now it makes it very easy for these managers to sell off rather than one share that was $1,030 now they've got 10 shares so a lot of the selling with Nvidia and a lot of the selling with the other tech stocks predominantly in the chips sector because of their performance is due to rebalancing to bring their portfolio down to the maximum level that a security cannot exceed a certain percent so if it's 5% and Nvidia became 11 they had to sell off 6% and they couldn't move it for example let's suppose you ram managed two mutual funds and your second mutual fund didn't have any position of Nvidia you can't move it from one to another you're selling it in the open market. so that's why lamb research took a dump and you're seeing a lot of the other ones role as well because it's rebalancing and it ends tomorrow because July 1st is Monday
