I’m expecting the Fed to start rate cutting in September so in preparation have been building holdings in bond funds. My current choices are $LionGlobal Short Duration Bond Fund (SG9999016000.MF)$ and $HSBC GIF Ultra Short Duration Bond MDis (LU2334458192.MF)$ which have been performing well. I’m also using bond ETFs with $NikkoAM SGD IGBond ETF (MBH.SG)$ being my preferred investment.

I am staying invested in $Fullerton Fund - Fullerton SGD Liquidity Fund (SGXZ40088619.MF)$ in the short to medium term while rates remain close to peak levels. This generates a reasonable return while looking for other investment opportunities. Also building some exposure to fixed income with $NikkoAM SGD IGBond ETF (MBH.SG)$. Will start buying back into business trusts like $NetLink NBN Tr (CJLU.SG)$ and $Kep Infra Tr (A7RU.SG)$ when prices look attractive. Fingers crosse...

say moo say me OP 102503342 : When interest rates fall, prices of existing bonds usually rise. This is because new bonds issued will have a lower coupon (interest payment) so investors will pay more for a bond with a higher coupon.

dookiro : Why did you choose this LionGlobal fund and not the one with QDis? What’s the main difference?
say moo say me OP dookiro : QDis is a Distrubution class of the fund which pays quarterly income as cash. I chose the Accumulation class which reinvests the income into the fund increasing the value of each unit held.
