Morgan Stanley: Maintains asmpt "in line with the market" rating, target price 82 Hong Kong dollars.

Morgan Stanley has released a research report stating that it will resume coverage on asmpt (00522), assigning a "market perform" rating and a target price of 82 Hong Kong dollars. Morgan Stanley is bullish on asmpt's applications in hot compression bonding (tcb) within the HBM market, expecting a compound annual growth rate of 65% for tcb-related revenue from 2023 to 2026. The firm pointed out that the recovery pace in the mainstream markets of semiconductors and electronic products remains slow, but in the advanced packaging field, asmpt has made breakthroughs in the high bandwidth memory (HBM) market. Management forecasts a 3.5% year-on-year decline in sales revenue for the fourth quarter.

Morgan Stanley's chief economist: Trump's tariffs will significantly weaken usa's economic growth.

morgan stanley's chief global economist, Seth Carpenter, said on Wednesday that Trump's tariff policy will significantly weaken the USA's economic growth by 2026. One question is when and how quickly these tariffs will be implemented. Carpenter, speaking at Morgan Stanley's annual Asia-Pacific Summit in Singapore, said in an interview that if these measures are implemented simultaneously, they could have a "huge negative impact" on the US economy. Carpenter stated that these tariffs will lead to higher inflation, and he insists on Morgan Stanley's basic assumption that these tariffs will be in place by 2025.

Daiwa: Upgrades kingsoft to "shareholding" rating, target price raised to HK$36.

Morgan Stanley released a research report stating that the target price for kingsoft (03888) has been raised from 32 Hong Kong dollars to 36 Hong Kong dollars, maintaining a "shareholding" rating. The report pointed out that kingsoft's third-quarter revenue exceeded the bank's expectations by 14%, with game revenue increasing by 78% year-on-year, surpassing the bank's expectation by 27%. During the period, operating profit and net income were 86% and 54% higher than Morgan Stanley's forecasts, respectively. Morgan Stanley has raised kingsoft's revenue forecasts for 2024 to 2026 by 2%, 2.8%, and 1.7%, respectively, to reflect the surprises brought by the group's game business and has also revised its operating profit forecasts for 2024 to 2026 upward by 10.2%, 9.
