The United Kingdom National Grid plans to invest 35 billion British Pound in its transmission Business.
National Grid stated on Wednesday that, according to its commercial planning for the transmission business, it will invest up to 35 billion British Pounds (44.45 billion USD) in the business over a five-year period ending in March 2031. National Grid operates the Energy system in the UK and the Electric Power & Gas Business in New York and Massachusetts in the USA. The company indicated that this investment includes more than 11 billion British Pounds for the maintenance and upgrading of the existing transmission network, as well as the construction of three Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects in the UK. The ASTI projects are key components of the National Grid plan aimed at building new grid infrastructure.
