South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics announced on Tuesday that its performance forecast shows that profits in the third quarter will be lower than expected. The world's largest storage chip manufacturer stated in its performance forecast that operating profit is expected to reach around 9.1 trillion South Korean won, a significant increase from last year's 2.43 trillion won, but lower than analysts' expectations of 11.456 trillion South Korean won (about 7.7 billion US dollars).
