SamurOP : Dendrite is a type of metal, like the needle-like crystals of metal, that form when you try to attach lithium to an anode. This could puncture the diaphragm and short circuit the battery. Therefore, you need a material that will prevent the formation of dendrites. That's what we're so lucky to be able to do. But until we did that, we didn't know if we could do it, and it was a scary moment indeed. Now, by contrast, honestly, the risks we face, the risks, challenges, and tasks ahead of us, such as expanding the factory to several billion batteries a year. Because Volkswagen alone wants to ship 3 million electric cars by 2025. They've said it publicly. Well, if these were all remote vehicles based on QuantumScape cells, that would be equivalent to 3 billion of our cells, which is a lot of cells. So doing this on a large scale is a huge challenge. However, this is far less than solving the dendrite problem.
