TWIMO (151403908) : looks like a tea cup forming on the weekly chart?
10baggerbamm OP TWIMO (151403908) : short-term most charts are a train wreck they're really bad the relative strength across the board for most stocks right now is below 30 there's a few that are holding up very well like Walmart for example and similar companies your industrials are holding up well your gold mining companies are holding up .
I think you could look at charts at this point and see what you want to see kind of similar to looking up at the sky at clouds and seeing different shapes will you perceive with somebody else or two different things
most stocks are extremely oversold they've broken support on daily and weekly certainly technology or in a free fall at this point you literally have to go back to a monthly chart which is years four to five years to see any type of similar pattern where one could say yeah it's coming close to a near-term bottom.
if there's material news from this company something that's groundbreaking the stocks going to go up in a down Market however we have seen it doesn't hold a spike that it can be up $2 in a day and within a couple days reverse everything
generally when you get blood baths sell-offs which is what we're experiencing right now certainly in technology stocks the biggest companies the ones that fell the most are the ones that recover the quickest you want to be in the most profitable company so you don't want to go into the most speculative
this company obviously falls on the speculative side and obviously they overlap in the technology field because they use that to drive their business at this point in time so I said if you've got a one year or two year time horizon you can buy it at this level and I think you're going to do fairly well I think you're going to make a very nice return at some point in time in the next year to two years you're going to get $10 plus out of the stock so if you had to hold it 2 years to see $10 from the current rate and you annualize that rate of return there's nothing terrible about it alternatively if you bought it at 12 and you got to wait 2 years to see a return of your principal it's a long time to break even.
and that's why when you get sell-offs people gravitate towards the largest most profitable companies to buy and not the speculative ones they tend to be the last group that rallies in a bull market before it sells off
TWIMO (151403908) : the last paragraph is news to me. thanks for this insight, i didn't know that.
