I'm new to MooMoo and it kinda blows my mind that the platform comes with so much information and knowledge!

Meticulous Trader : Feeling depressed is temporary not disease my friend our mind and body can overcome any chaotic situations …invest/trade wisely very small steps at a time focusing on learning how to invest/trade and keep tracking profits or losses not hoping for profits save your money try to keep risk at minimal you will get better over time

天人合一 OP : @NercZ24 To be honest, I would like to make enough to sustain the basic necessities for the family and probably looking at an "unrealistic" 10-15% gain a month. I know it's not usually possible, and penny stocks have every opportunity to lose all of my capital.
@Meticulous Trader Thank you for the encouragement and motivation. I like your status and mindset to only buy something if it is profitable. Do you mind sharing your knowledge? You trade options mostly?

Tonyco : I had to quit my job to care for my daughter after our plans fell through and daycare was 1.5x more than I made per month. Started with $10, up to $2,500 now.
Don't fall into the meme pennystocks trap. FFIE is not looking good. Mullen Auto has problems with the CEO? There's controversy there. HOLO is a gamble. Don't put more than you can lose there.
FUTU is a great company and product ( obv ), however, they suffer from the US's stupid crusade against China, so be careful of irrational sell-off.
SE is OK, but again, they are hindered by anti-Asian market sentiments.
Until that nonsense dies out, perhaps you would be interested in $Interactive Brokers (IBKR.US)$ , or $Robinhood (HOOD.US)$
Other powerful growing companies are $Dave Inc (DAVE.US)$ , $First Solar (FSLR.US)$ , $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$
Be sure to research, or it's gambling. 10-15% monthly gains are absolutely doable. I'm at approximately +35%/month, or +326% annually. My goal is 100k in 2 years. Diversification is key. For me, 30% solid growth stocks 30% speculative and 30% crypto with 10% in pennies is my distribution.

Tonyco Tonyco : For example, $GameStop (GME.US)$ might get you a good return, or you could end up buying the tip and sitting at a loss for months tying up your capital waiting for the next meme pump (which may never happen)

Worst session since 2022

We had a bloodbath Wednesday with S&P500 and Nasdaq clocking their worst days since 2022.
Google, Meta, Nvidia and Tesla all fell more than 5%. Specifically for Tesla, it plummeted 12% - their worst day since 2020

2024 half-year recap: Tell us your trading story

However, my investment philosophy is grounded in long-term value investing, and I believe that Chinese stocks, particularly those with solid fundamentals, have the potential for substantial rebounds of 100%, 200%, or even 300% as the Chinese market recovers. That said, predicting market movements is inherently uncertain, and diversification remains a crucial part of my strategy.
Yes, I am still buying Chinese stocks, but I'm also diversifying my portfolio further by allocating some cash into bonds and REITs to take advantage of higher yields as interest rates are expected to drop. This provides a balanced approach, combining growth potential with income stability.
As for A-shares, I prefer investments where I can employ options strategies. Options allow me to hedge my trades and enhance returns through strategies like covered calls and LEAPS. Since I can't use options on A-shares, they don't align with my current investment strategy.

US tech stocks might continue their impressive rally, but there's also the possibility of a correction. The same goes for Chinese and Singaporean markets. Given this inherent uncertainty, diversification is crucial. This not only means diversifying within the stock market across different sectors and regions, but also looking beyond stocks altogether.
In my strategy, I've been focusing on including cash, money market funds, bonds, REITs, and real estate in my portfolio. Additionally, starting up businesses further provides safety nets and enhances my diversification.
Preparing for the future involves a multi-dimensional approach. It's about spreading risk across various asset classes and regions, staying flexible, and being ready to adapt to whatever the market throws our way. By doing so, we not only mitigate risks but also position ourselves to seize opportunities as they arise.
