Hatt bosdike : Yes i agree, every time any stocks in portfolio gains 80-100% in a quick time. I would take my money off the table and play with only house money. Thats working best for me.

10baggerbamm OP Hatt bosdike : that's very smart I'm a strong advocate of taking the money that is your principal out and either leaving all of your profits or percentage of profits in the company for a long term to see if they turn out to be what I say is an 800 lb gorilla in which case a little bit of money left over 5 or 10 years in a company can turn out to be a huge amount of money, if they are successful

Ryn25 : I believe that's why it's called Day Trading...for those of us who don't want to hold for yrs on end. But to each their own, personally rather make that 10-100% or more within an hr or so, repeatedly, than wait 10 yrs for 10-15%. Who knows if I'll be here 5,10, or 25yrs from now. Discipline and consistency gives me money now... tomorrow may never come? Last of the Boomer's here, and from where I sit, the future is ify, at best. Happy trading all!

10baggerbamm OP Ryn25 : making a short-term trade is a drug I get it and anybody who's ever done it you feel like your king of the world. that being said it's impossible to constantly make in your words 10 to 100% on a day trade. and that's because it doesn't exist on a continued basis you will make mistakes and as you make money if you keep taking larger and larger and larger positions which is what you would have to do in order to continuously be making money at some point in time you're going to pick the wrong one and the stocks going to halt and gap down and you going to get wiped out that's what happens. overtime is where real money is made and if you don't believe me just look at Warren Buffett show me a day trader that's ever achieved his level of greatness name one person and they don't exist their fly by night it's just like getting up to a baseball plate and swinging as hard as you can trying to kill the ball because you think you're going to hit a home run every time you're going to strike out and the one home run out of 10 at bats doesn't make your odds favorable. look at all the people that day traded nvda 2 years ago and then the stock didn't fall so they never reentered the purchase so they never bought the stock back again because they didn't want to pay more than what they sold it for look what Walmart's done in 2 years look at Costco you can go down the list and over time buying and holding dwarfs any ability to trade as long as you're in the right companies. I have a stock certificate from a trade a long time ago where I left the profits in the company. I traded Apple I made a equivalent of 19 shares in profit a long time ago back in 1991. split adjusted it's seven figures today.

Trytosaveabit 10baggerbamm OP : This right here is why I have multiple accounts! My long account only gets adjustments made 4 times a year! Unless it’s a unexpected event! Otherwise yup 4 and most of those 4 are just adding to my positions! Even my day trade account I may have a ticker that I day trade! But also like it for long term! So I’ll add to my “investment” account as well. But that I don’t mess with then.
