There are so many ETFs which track S&P 500 such as SPY, VOO, SPLG and etc. S&P 500 represents the US top 500 best companies and represents the economy of the US in the long run. ETF does provide a convenient and cost effective way to achieve diversification. It also lowers investment risk by holding a basket of stocks rather than selecting individual stock.
The lesson learned was sometimes I do make wrong decision on not buying low during market downturn. To overcome this, ETF + RSP may be a good solution for me to ride with volatility while stick to the plan to achieve investment goals.

I've been a risk-adversed person when it comes to investing. Constantly investing into ETF has been a monthly ritual of mine and it has been pretty encouraging so far... dribb1e : From what I remember, SPLG has lower fees and higher dividend yields, but by the hundredths of a percentage. (Fees should be 0.02% for SPLG and 0.09% for SPY)
SPY, on the other hand, is much more liquid, so if you are actively trading, SPY is better. But if you are just investing for the long term, SPLG should be better.
