Bank of America: S&P 500 index has peaked, rotational trading holds potential.
Bank of America said that the S&P 500 index may have already recorded this year's achievable increase, but the benchmark index still provides investors with many opportunities. The company reiterated its forecast that the S&P 500 index will reach 5400 points at the end of the year, which is roughly consistent with the current level after the index has risen by about 15% so far this year. Savita Subramanian, head of Bank of America's U.S. stock and quantitative strategy, said that although she holds a neutral position on the overall index, there may be opportunities for substantial returns in the following areas: dividend-paying stocks, 'old-fashioned' capital-expenditure beneficiaries (such as infrastructure, construction, and manufacturing stocks), and other stocks.
