I recently took a $1,750 loss on a SPY call option and wanted to share what went wrong and what I learned.
What Happened:
I entered when SPY was trending up but didn’t notice it was a same-day expiration. I hoped for a bounce, but as the broader market turned red, my position quickly lost value due to time decay.
What I Learned:
Avoid same-day expirations unless scalping.
Set a strict stop-loss to limit losses.
