U.S. Business Activity in November Expands at Fastest Pace Since April 2022

The preliminary November Markit Manufacturing PMI rose to 48.8, its highest since July 2024. Services and composite PMIs also hit their highest levels since early 2022. Protectionism bolstered confidence among U.S. goods producers, increasing factory employment.
Factories stepped up imports to beat tariffs, straining supply chains to levels unseen in over two years. Inflationary pressures are expected to rise.
