The CEO of an insurance giant suspected in a murder case has agreed to be extradited to New York to face murder charges.
As a suspect in the shooting of a UnitedHealth Group Inc. executive in Midtown Manhattan, Luigi Mangione gave up his fight against extradition to New York to face murder charges in court on Thursday. A judge in Blair County, Pennsylvania, ordered Mangione to be transferred to New York, where he faces first-degree murder charges for allegedly shooting Brian Thompson. The 26-year-old Mangione has been handed over to the New York police and may appear in court in Manhattan as early as Thursday afternoon.
