Oil prices fell nearly 4%, and the stock prices of us energy companies declined in pre-market trading. Baker Hughes: Oil & gas drilling by US drillers sees first increase in four weeks.
Energy services company Baker Hughes (BKR.O) reported on Friday that US energy companies added oil & gas drilling this week for the first time in four weeks. As an early indicator of future production, the number of oil & gas drilling rigs increased by one to 586 in the week ending October 11. Baker Hughes stated that compared to the same period last year, the total number of rigs still decreased by 36, a decrease of 6%. Oil drilling rigs increased by two this week, reaching 481.
