$VANGUARD FTSE CDN HIGH DIVID YIELD TRUST UNIT(VDY.CA)$ would be another good option to look at but, you'll want to watch overlap though with any other ETF you look at. Canada's dividend markets tend to be dominated by our banks and a couple of utilities/railways.

The TSX is actually doing better than the S&P 500 this year
The S&P 500 is up 15% in 2024 while the TSX is up only 4%...BUT under the hood, the TSX is actually doing MUCH better
Only 23% of S&P 500 stocks are outperforming the index, and 33% are up double-digits

Favorite dividend growth ETFs

What are your favourite dividend growth etfs? Why is it your favourite? I’m looking to have exposure to both Canada and the US.

Not the best at this but what I would do is

Consider the weightage and allocation of stocks in the ETF
Diversify into different sector for instance (QQQ for tech, any REITS ETF, if it exist, healthcare ETF etc)
Liquidity of the ETF, some ETF is good but it has very little investors buying it thus putting you at a high risk when trying to sell it back to the market.
Past performance. Just because it’s an ETF doesn’t mean it’s good/safer. The past performance of it will give you some insights.

I have a few I would recommend

VDY, VFV, ZEB, XDV and FIE.
VDY, XDV, and ZEB are bank and finance heavy but pay a decent monthly dividend
I like FIE cause it trades around 7 bucks a share and pays a monthly .04 dividend, room to grow a bit and cheap to buy
