With the market anticipating rate cuts from the Bank of Canada, would it be wise to buy a GIC or just put money into $VANGUARD ALL EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO ETF UNITS (VEQT.CA)$ / $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$ at this point?

Was just looking at some year to date performances of the etfs I own. As of this morning:
$VANGUARD ALL EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO ETF UNITS (VEQT.CA)$ is up 12.51%
$Vanguard Total World Stock ETF (VT.US)$ is up 11.08%
$VANGUARD ALL EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO ETF UNITS (VEQT.CA)$ is up 12.51%
$Vanguard Total World Stock ETF (VT.US)$ is up 11.08%

Is it a good idea to invest into a combination of $VANGUARD ALL EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO ETF UNITS (VEQT.CA)$ & $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$ holdings to minimize MER?
Hi guys, as title says. There are SO many out there. So far I've got on my list $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$ , $VANGUARD S&P 500 INDEX ETF TR UNIT (VFV.CA)$ , $VANGUARD ALL EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO ETF UNITS (VEQT.CA)$ . $ISHARES S&P/TSX 60 INDEX ETF UNIT (XIU.CA)$ . $VANGUARD FTSE CDN HIGH DIVID YIELD TRUST UNIT (VDY.CA)$ . Bravo Jordan : A GIC in this environment is a great way to lose money to inflation and the devaluing of the Canadian dollar.
Avaliye : XEQT, GIC returns sucks. I can make 5% in a single day, it’s just not worth it for my risk tolerance level. So long as you’re not in or near retirement you should be fine.
DanDha OP Avaliye : Tell us how you do that in one day.
Samanthaa : Both ETFs have been on a run since October 2022. Could correct going forward.
A GIC paying 3.9 to 4% more than covers 2% inflation. Might be the safer bet.
JGPM : It’s all about time horizon and risk tolerance.
