Bank of America strategists Ohsung Kwon and Savita Subramanian mentioned in a report to clients on Tuesday that approximately 84% of the companies in the S&P 500 Index have reported earnings during this earnings report cycle, with an EPS year-on-year growth of 13%, the highest increase since the fourth quarter of 2021. The earnings guidance provided by companies has been relatively weak, however, the corporate confidence index from Bank of America has risen to a record level; this index measures the positive and negative sentiment expressed during earnings calls.
