Ss is a us bank w 3.8 trillion assets under management. The substantial shareholding shows ss net holding increased to 7%. I doubt they shorting Wds at this low price. Only hedge funds go swing trades. All mutual funds land Stocks to traders for fees. Ss is just one of them. The best way against shorter is buy back. Meg will be around for sometimes. WDS is better than bank interest, fully franked and if you buy at the right price, (low part of the cycle or during significant market correction events), then you are laughing.
For WDS my grossed up yield represents 15.63% annual return on the money I've invested over the years. Who the hell wouldn't be happy with that?!? I view WDS as low risk, (when investing over decades), and if I wanted to sell at some point wait for the next hot war/supply crunch event.

Hate to be right, hope for the best with a massive oversold

I hate to be right a month ago again for this one. $Whitehaven Coal Ltd (WHC.AU)$ is now 6.025, it has broken its bottom & 52-wk low crossed all its EMAs for more than 15%+. I wish it make it up for the collectors in October with some rebounds.
The problem for WHC now is that it used to has a very high stable yield, so that its price movements won't be as bad & even if you haven't collected it at its bottom, you can still make some decent...

Aus 30% gdp ties with export trades with China, Iron, lng and agri business etc etc or even education industry. CHINESE economy experienced a short term headwind with oversupply of property market. Like any other major economy, it goes through cycle. But rest assured, LNG demand from China will ever increase from here to replace coal which creates about > 70 % electricity.
