liang wang199 OP : "a long time ago I owned a broker dealer and we had a trading desk and maybe once a week or so I would sit behind the trading desk and I would trade the stocks we made a market in or I would get a phone call from one of my friends from a wire house saying look go in and buy this stock right now because we've got a big buyer coming in and you're going to be able to retail it back out to them at a higher price it's called front running it's illegal but welcome to the world of investing everybody does it and if you can make a buck because you got a little bit of information ahead of time somebody else you're going to do it nobody admits it but they all do it. 
at any rate when you have a thinly traded position like this it's really easy for one or two market makers to run the stock up we would do it on some thinly traded over the counter stocks I would call up a friend and I'm like look I'm going to put an order in for a hundred shares fill it $4 above the market we would call a jump starting a stock. 
so now you have this print that several dollars ahead of the closing price and everybody starts looking at it oh my God something's going on and maybe you got to do it another time with 50 shares or 200 shares and then all of a sudden retail starts buying it because they're stupid and they'll Chase anything like a dog that chases its tail not knowing why they're doing it but somebody else is doing and I don't want to miss out now they call it fomo. 
but that's what's happening with these companies in China they're so thinly traded they can control the price very easily so you get these Gap UPS and the degenerates just start buying because they see this enormous price gain and they think there's something happening and they don't want to miss out on it and then all it has to happen is the chain of events somebody else buys another person buys and the stock has been jump started it comes alive and it's off to the races and now the people that own it dirt cheap are dumping it to retail. 
they were put options where you could bet the stocks going to fall then at least you could profit from the downside because what you never want to do is short one of these companies everybody here has seen shit companies go from five bucks to some of them $100 $200 if you're short you're screwed if you have puts at least you know what your maximum loss is. none of these stocks that make these types of moves have any options"
