This is for a no - registered account with 10 years or so of time horizon. And advice?

Have ~50k in cash but hesitant to buy in with the huge run up we've had. Yeah I know you can't time the market but I wonder what the odds are it will continue before it tapers off.

I know a lot of people suggest XEQT, but curious if there are folks that don’t like it or have other ETF portfolios $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$

I bought some $TELUS Corp (T.CA)$ at around $21.75 expecting it to go up with rate cuts, but now I'm debating selling it off to buy more $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$ .

Right now, I'm investing in $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$ because I want an all-in-one, well diversified equities product with low fees. I'm aiming for retirement in 30-35 years. The low fee aspect is why I've chosen XEQT over something like a traditional mutual fund.

What do you think about selling number of shares from an etf like $VANGUARD S&P 500 INDEX ETF TR UNIT (VFV.CA)$ or $ISHARES CORE EQUITY ETF PORTFOLIO UNITS CAD (XEQT.CA)$ that equals the yearly profit then investing this money in a GIC? All within your TFSA or RRSP? Is this a bad strategy? If so? Why? Could this affect contribution room for TFSA/RRSP?
