If the Chinese government cancels the EV subsidy and incentive, many Chinese EV brands will collapse. The two largest brands, BYD and Tesla may survive but the economy will suffer.

ZnWC OP HSC_hipot : If the Chinese government really cancels the EV subsidy and incentive of one brand (which is unlikely), the people, the provincial government and ultimately the economy will suffer - less foreign investment and jobs for the people.
The country targeted will also retaliate by cancelling subsidy of Chinese brands or worse imposed higher tariffs on Chinese exported goods. I think the Chinese government is wise and sensible not to impose discriminating policy on one brand or one country.
