Tesla unveiled the Cybercab and RoboVan on Robotaxi Day. They were flashy and aesthetic. But they would be useless if they don't function as intended. They are not new concepts.
Waymo, Cruise, Apollo Go, WeRide and a few others have robotaxis for a few years already.
Tesla's new Robovan has a Chinese counterpart with the same name. WeRide unveiled its Robovan back in 2021.

Earlier this year, Musk said that robotaxi will be ready by this year and he will be surprised if it's not by end of next year. At Tesla's Robotaxi Day, Musk pushed it forward to 2027.
No affordable Model 2 was unveiled, so deliveries may fall in 2025 and 2026.
I knew Cathie Wood's target price of USD2,000 by 2027 was ridiculous. And with the delay, it's even more so.

Why? Because Chinese EVs are clearly way ahead in the game and have something to offer consumers besides price.
There will be strong demand for Chinese EVs as seen with $NIO popularity in Norway, Germany, Sweden, etc. Governments won’t tax Chinese EVs too high as it will kill off demand.
After all, it’s better to get 25%...
