$Yunhong International Units 1 Cl A Ord Shs 1/2 Red Wt And 1 Rt (ZGYH.US)$, who's CEO is also behind the Trump media SPAC $Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC.US)$, plans to dissolve and liquidate.
SPAC Yunhong International, which is run by Patrick Orlando, will dissolve after it was unable to consummate a deal within the required timeframe, according to a 8-K filing.
Wuhan, China-based Yunhong went public in 2019 with a stated goal of looking to acquire a consumer/lifestyle business in Asia, later amended to exclude China.
Yunhong briefly reached a deal earlier this year to take battery and hydrogen-fuel-cell company Giga Energy public at a $7.4B valuation, with plans to operate in China. However, Giga canceled the merger some four months later when a deadline to close expired.
$Yunhong International C/Wts 31/01/2027 (To Pur Com) (ZGYHW.US)$ soared on Oct. 22, jumping 265% after Trump's Media and Technology Group announced it would go public through a combination with DWAC.
Orlando is also the CEO of SPAC $Benessere Capital Acquisition Corp (BENE.US)$.
The Yunhong news was reported earlier by Bloomberg.
Orlando's dealings with Trump have come under scrutiny in the wake of a New York Times article last month that claimed there might be potential violations of securities laws in regard to the DWAC SPAC. Earlier this week Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) sent a letter to SEC Chairman Gary Gensler yesterday requesting that the agency investigate the transaction.

Two special purpose acquisition companies run by the same CEO who heads the soaring SPAC that’s bringing former President Donald Trump’s nascent media company public rallied Friday on apparent hopes that they’ll soon see similar market success.
Shares and investment units of $Benessere Capital Acquisition Corp (BENE.US)$ and Yunhong International $Yunhong International Units 1 Cl A Ord Shs 1/2 Red Wt And 1 Rt (ZGYH.US)$ rose along with sister SPAC $Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC.US)$.
DWAC is the special purpose acquisition company that agreed Thursday to merge with Trump Media & Technology Group at a $1.7B valuation. Its stock shot up to as high as $175 intraday Friday on continued enthusiasm for the deal.
That’s 1,657% above the $9.96 that Digital World Acquisition Corp closed at on Wednesday before announcing a SPAC merger with Trump’s new company.
The rally apparently spilled over to Benessere Capital and Yunhong International . Both SPACs are headed by Patrick Orlando, the same CEO of DWAC.
Although neither SPAC has finalized a merger deal yet, their shares, investment units, warrants and rights all rallied Friday in heavy volume – in some cases by more than 1,000% intraday.
For example, $Yunhong International C/Wts 31/01/2027 (To Pur Com) (ZGYHW.US)$ blasted up 1,033% at one point Friday before ending the session at 85 cents, ahead 264.8%. $Yunhong International Com Usd0.001 (S/R 31/01/2027) (ZGYHR.US)$ were likewise +147.6% at their peak, ultimately closing 38.8% higher at 34.7 cents.
Similarly, $Yunhong International Units 1 Cl A Ord Shs 1/2 Red Wt And 1 Rt (ZGYH.US)$ rose +26.6% intraday before settling down to close +2.9% at $10.57. And lastly, $Yunhong International (ZGYHU.US)$ gained as much as 27.2% before pulling back to finish the day 15.2% higher at $12.56.
Meanwhile, $BENESSERE CAP ACQUISITION CORP C/WTS (TO PUR COM) (BENEW.US)$ soared as much as 787% intraday before ending the session at $1.86, up 200%. $BENESSERE CAP ACQUISITION CORP COM USD0.0001(S/RIGHT) (BENER.US)$ likewise rallied 224% at one point before easing back to close at $0.54, ahead 45.9%.

And $Benessere Capital Acquisition Corp (BENE.US)$ hit a +86.9% intraday peak, then ended the session 15.6% higher at $11.69.
