Big Luke : If you buy Calls or Puts that are out of the money, or less than .65 delta, they are more prone to be affected by time decay and increases/decreases in forward implied volatility.  if the stock is expected to be less volatile after an even (like after earnings)  the portion of your option that is made up of uncertainty (Its greater than 50% of your option at 65 or less delta) plummets because there is less of it all the sudden.
