      What is main contract

For futures, we mainly refer to the quotes of its main contract. The main contract is the continuation of the main force. We can also check other ordinary contracts, such as the NQ2303, which means the NASDAQ 100 Index futures contract that expires in March 2023.

The main contract has the largest trading volume. It is the most active contract in the market and also the most likely to be traded. Contracts other than the main contract are relatively less active, and it is also relatively less likely to open or close positions in these contracts.

Futures contracts have expiration dates. After the last trading day, the contract will expire and no longer trade. Therefore, the main contract changes over time.

Switches of the main force will lead to fluctuations in the candlestick chart. Such fluctuations do not matter.
