Assets in Transit

1. What is Assets in Transit

Assets in transit are assets you will own but haven't arrived in your account yet. They can be money or securities that you can't trade before they arrive in your account. For example, if you're due to receive stock dividends as you hold the stock before the ex-dividend date, those stock dividends are considered assets in transit until they are actually distributed and appear in your holdings.
 
 

2. Where I can find assets in transit

You can find your assets in transit in your account on the app by going to:
  • Accounts > Universal Account > More > Account Details > Securities

 

3. Why you have assets in transit

Your account may show that you have assets in transit for the following scenarios:
  1. Pending fund dividends
  2. Fund transfers
  3. Fund redemption periods
  4. Rights issues for Hong Kong stocks
  5. Priority subscription periods
  6. Pending cash dividends
  7. Pending stock dividends
  8. Stock transfers
  9. Physical stock deposit

 

4. Assets in transit are included in your total assets

Your total assets include your cash balance, the market value of your positions, and any assets in transit, such as cash or stocks that are on their way to your account.
 

5. Processing times for assets in transit

Assets in transit can take 1 to 45 days to arrive in your account. The processing time varies on a case by case basis.

6. Will the assets in transit impact on buying power

Your assets in transit do not affect your buying power. However, there may be a delay, which can impact the amount shown in your account.
Please wait for the amount of buying power to be updated in your account if you have assets in transit.
 

7. How does the assets in transit not appearing on my statements?

Assets in transit are not included in your daily or monthly account statements. However, you can find your assets in transit in your account on the app by going to:
  • Accounts > Universal Account > More > Account Details > Securities
