Current account surplus surplus of 2 trillion849.9 billion yen in May exceeds forecast

According to the balance of payments bulletin announced by the Ministry of Finance on the 8th, the current account balance for May had a surplus of 2,8499 billion yen. The predicted median of preliminary investigations carried out by Reuters to private research agencies was a surplus of about 2,453.9 billion yen, and the announced surplus exceeded expectations.
Of the current account balance, the primary income balance had a surplus of 4,211.1 billion yen, which boosted the overall surplus. The trade and services balance was in deficit of 1.106.6 billion yen.
According to the ministry, the secondary income balance is in deficit of 254.5 billion yen.
