Breaking News
Majority of Larger Listed Companies in Singapore Make Progress in Climate Reporting
Around 78% of larger listed companies in Singapore, mostly from carbon-intensive sectors, are progressing well in climate reporting, according to a joint study by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority and the Sustainable and Green Finance Institute at the National University of Singapore. The study, based on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures framework, found that nearly all companies have established roles or committees to manage climate risks and opportunities. However, improvements are needed in disclosing strategic alignment with climate goals and scenario analysis methodologies. Companies aligned with the TCFD Framework are expected to seamlessly transition into ISSB-aligned reporting.
High-End Rents Rise 3% in Singapore, While Mid-Market Rents Decline
Rents for high-end and ultra-luxury non-landed private homes in Singapore rose by 3% between April and May, according to Knight Frank. The increase was attributed to affluent local families waiting for the completion of their landed homes currently undergoing reconstruction and foreign expatriates who prefer leasing to purchasing due to the prohibitive ABSD rate. In contrast, rents in the mass and mid-end markets declined during the same period, falling between 1% and 3%. The volume of leasing contracts for non-landed private homes increased slightly by 0.1% to 12,378.
