Daughter's concept for a stock portfolio
For my daughter's investment in US stocks, the main focus will be on etf, but will also be on the lookout for high-quality stocks that have been oversold, and seize opportunities to buy low.
Companies currently in the portfolio
1. QQQ
iwm is a small cap index.
crowdstrike is crowdstrike.
amd is amd.
appl is apple.
APPL apple stocks are given.
QQQ regularly adds funds on a fixed basis, the mechanism of eliminating the weak and retaining the strong in the large cap, constantly removing the underperforming and bringing in the outperforming, so you can participate in the strongest technology companies in the US stock market in the long term.
iwm is a small cap index. Earlier, I saw a serious valuation gap between small cap and large cap stocks, coupled with the Fed's initiation of a rate cut cycle, so I expected small cap stocks to perform well. However, from the beginning of the year until now, it has been trading sideways, until recently some trends emerged after Trump's victory.
crowdstrike has always been focused on cybersecurity stocks. Recently, there was a bearish news causing a gap down, I took advantage of the sharp drop to buy low, and now the stock price is slowly recovering. Cybersecurity is like buying health supplements, taking them may not necessarily guarantee benefits, but not taking them might lead to regrets when things go wrong later on.
AMD's recent financial report was disappointing, but after reviewing the report, I found that there were actually no major issues. It was just that the market expectations were too optimistic. The stock dropped to around 140, so I took the opportunity to buy at a lower price, and it has rebounded recently.
In the portfolio, my top choice for regular purchases is QQQ, followed by IWM. I only consider other options if there are opportunities to buy at a low price.
The goal of this portfolio is stable growth, as long as it achieves around 10% per year, it will meet the standard.
My simple estimate is to invest 12k funds annually with a 10% return until she reaches adulthood at 18 years old. It is estimated that the portfolio size will reach 600k by then, which should be enough for her to study or travel to pursue her life goals. I hope inflation doesn't accelerate too quickly.
