The United States has announced new regulations on advanced technology in cooperation with countries like the UK.

On the 5th, the United States announced new regulations on advanced technologies such as quantum computers. Several countries including the UK have already announced similar regulations, and they are coordinating their efforts. Other friendly countries are also expected to announce similar measures.
According to the US Federal Gazette, the regulations apply to quantum computer-related technology as well as advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology and metal component production technology. This includes gate-all-around field-effect transistors (GAA-FET), which are state-of-the-art basic designs that contribute to improving semiconductor performance and reducing power consumption.
Alan Estebes, from the Ministry of Commerce, stated that "today's measure is to adapt to the rapidly evolving technology of the United States' export restrictions. Through international cooperation, it will become even more effective."
Kevin Wolf, a trade specialist lawyer, stated that "the most important regulations are related to quantum computers and related technologies," and pointed out that there are new reporting requirements for foreign employees engaged in quantum computer development in the United States.
Mr. Wolf also mentioned that the regulations regarding GAAFET only apply to the core manufacturing sector, and that the design of more extensive integrated circuits is not included.
