The adoption of NVIDIA DRIVE is expanding across the world's automotive ecosystem.
January 6, 2025
CES - NVIDIA announced today that Toyota, Aurora, and Continental have joined the list of global mobility leaders developing and building fleets of consumer and commercial vehicles using NVIDIA's accelerated computing and AI.
Toyota, the world's largest auto manufacturer, will manufacture next-generation vehicles based on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin™ running the NVIDIA DriveOS operating system certified for safety, providing highly safe advanced driving assistance functions.
Today, most auto manufacturers, truck manufacturers, robotaxies, autonomous delivery vehicle manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, and mobility startups are developing with NVIDIA DRIVE AGX™ platform and technology. With an advanced platform covering training in the cloud, simulation, and onboard computation, NVIDIA's automotive vertical business is expected to grow to about $5 billion by 2026.
"The autonomous vehicle revolution is upon us, and cars will become one of the largest AI and robotics industries," said NVIDIA's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang. "NVIDIA will transform the multi-trillion-dollar automotive industry with expertise in automotive computing, safety, and the CUDA AV platform over 20 years."
Aurora, Continental, and NVIDIA also announced a long-term strategic partnership this week to deploy unmanned trucks with NVIDIA DRIVE on a large scale. NVIDIA's high-speed computing running DriveOS will be integrated into Aurora Driver, Continental's SAE Level 4 autonomous driving system planned for mass production in 2027.
Other mobility companies adopting NVIDIA DRIVE AGX for next-generation advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicles include BYD, JLR, Li Auto, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, NIO, Nuro, Rivian, Volvo Cars, Waabi, Wayve, Xiaomi, ZEEKR, Zoox, and more.
NVIDIA provides three core computing systems and AI software essential for end-to-end autonomous vehicle development. NVIDIA DRIVE AGX is the in-vehicle computer. NVIDIA DGX™ processes data from vehicles and trains AI models. Additionally, NVIDIA Omniverse™ and NVIDIA Cosmos™ running on the NVIDIA OVX™ system test and validate autonomous driving systems through simulation.
