Citizens in western countries can trade stocks other than their own countries', through banks or trading platform, Hood is one of them. Futu and tiger can be great challenges to Hood and attract most Asian clients. Futu and Tiger are both legal in Hongkong. For mainland citizen, they can cross boarder to Hongkong or Singapore and open up an account instead of doing it in mainland China. The only difficulty is travel ban due to the covid. Untill RMB is free to exchange and becomes world currency, both companies probably will not have direct branches in China.
