What would happen if Citidel bought a quantity of calls equal to their shorts all at once and then started to cover? would citidel be able to buy at the strike price for all of there shares and then the MM’s be stuck holding the bag on the squeeze when they could come up with enough shares to cover thier contracts?

correct me if i am wrong, but doesnt short selling creat temprorary inflows? losses arnt recogized untill they cover which means recent inflows actually represent just how far they have gone down the short hol…. not a financial advisor

Why are citidel investors not pulling out their money? what do they know that we dont? is this really just a battle between us and them? i imagine the loss of a few major investors would cause a melt down and cause several margin calls….

If sell orders at 500 dolars per share hurt the price due to selling pressure, would buy orders at 1 dollar per share increase the share price? It can’t be that simple right? Wouldnt hedge fund creat calls and then just create rediculously large buy orders at unrealistically low prices?
