I feel like I finally graduated from kindergarten and am now entering primary school when it comes to investing. Took me 4 months.
Oct, new start. The 2 charts below are my starting points (in USD and MYR, since my current investment split is 60:40). Let see how it ends!

$Cisco (CSCO.US)$
I conclude my Sept P/L sharing with this positive note.
Wishing everyone is fruitful Oct.

My investment journey started in June with a mindset of 'yoohoo, let's go shopping, that can't be hard!'. So I filled my portfolio with 70% large caps & solid companie and 30% promising companies and thought I could sit back and relax, waiting for dividends from the 70% and capital gains from the 30%.
Somewhere in July, I went 'oopsy daisy, somethings not right, there is smoke in the kitchen!'. I realised many stocks I bought were over-valued and underperforming, lead...

A small win is still a win!
I sold my first covered call option. So I'm quite pleased with uncovering something that I didn't even know existed just a few months ago.
Happy weekend everyone!

Agonizongly, I fumbled a few days with this, and I'm still not sure I got it right, but everything's got to start somewhere. So voila! I setup 2 covered calls sale on 2 positions I own.
STLA has more positive news (interest rate cut, spending on discretionary to rise allegedly) and is supported by the TA trendline for an upside, so I set the strike at 18 (current 16) dte 49. I don't mind sacrificing this even if the price sh...

Took a small profit in $Alibaba (BABA.US)$
but quickly chickened out when I realised I needed to learn more before really diving into the China concept stocks, or any stocks forv that matter. That was during my first trading month. Fond memories of being silly and experimenting around. One can only do that honey moon thing for a short time, and then it's back to reality.
Since this learning topic came up. I dug into some information again.

When I look at my portfolio in MYR, it's depressing (I shared in previous posts). But when I switch to USD, it's a different story.
I actually did quite well compared to the market. All my time invested in studying this matter this past few months was not put to waste. This is such an uplift to my spirit, which was dampened by my portfolio shrinkage (when viewed in MYR) in the past 2 months.

Happy Monday and back to work time!
I started to invest in June, and up until Aug, I maintained an almost 50:50 value split between MY and the US market. There are some changes in my thoughts since early Sept, hence my subsequent value re-allocation and stock selection criteria has since changed. I will explain these changes in a future post.

I'm totally new to this, but since Moomoo is making it avail and my FOMO is kicking in, I did some digging around to find out. Finally, I understood the concept of buying and selling options. It's essentially an investor-to-investor transaction where you can offer for sale an option or multiple) to another to buy your shares at a certain price, within a certain period. Vice versa, you can buy an option from another to buy their shares. Essentiall...

I just got this. It's a health food business so that's a good sector.
$DXN (5318.MY)$
It's export based, so RM currency appreciation may not be favourable to it at the moment. But it's paying good dividend, not overvalued, has good analyst rating and has good profit margin.
All these indicators tell me it's a good holding for both dividend income and capital gain in the long run.
First time getting into penny stocks as I was inspired by Benny's presentation during Mo...
