Opened a Moomoo account in May and started to fill up my portfolio in June with 40% MY stocks and 60% US stocks. I focused on high dividend stocks, naively thinking this is a bulletproof way to grow a portfolio.
A few months down the road, after being hit by stock price erosion and taking the 30% WHT hit on the US stock dividends, I realize this is not a sound strategy.

I participated in a handful of IPO subscriptions, including 99SMART since my stock investment journey in June, but was only alloted once -
I sold too early in Aug because I wanted to divert more funds into the US market, which seemed more promising. That was a huge mistake. Not only did the share price soared, but the company even started to pay dividen. The positive signs were there - Johor state, EPF's stake, palm oil... but I was too impatient.

Spotted this fairy tale theme Xmas deco at Mid Valley. Nicely done!
My favourite Xmas gift was this homemade infused hair oil with scalp massage comb from my sister. It's for my thinning hair.
Taking a break on Xmas day, but I still need to complete some work after this before my 2-week trip to South Africa on 31 Dec. I'm doing some prep work before installing a big mural for a client. Will share more when it's completed in Q1 2025.
Merry Christmas to all.

I've been quite fascinated with the option game since Oct and have dabbled into it ever since. More and more, I see the viability of it as another income stream for me, but i have not gone in in a big way just yet. I need more experience. But just as a topline learning, I think I'll only be comfortable playing with stocks or derivatives I'm very familiar with, not opportunistically jumping into anything shiny.

$Archer Aviation (ACHR.US)$ experienced an unprecedented price surge since the pandemic, bringing it to a new high of $9. This latest large block of stock intended to be sold represents 0.1% of the total share available. Is this sufficient to trigger a price collapse? I'm not experienced enough to predict, so let's see what happens taking all things into consideration.

The most horrific moment in my 2024 investment was when I intuitively found a great opportunity, only to screw it all up soon after with my carelessness. It happened only last week.
I found out about the $UnitedHealth (UNH.US)$ CEO's passing on Friday and, at the same time, some of the potential malpractices of this insurance giant. The deeper I dug into this rabbit hole, the more I felt there was an opportunity to short this stock for a qui...

Is it because of...
Seasonility?
Retail investment money outflow to foreign stock market?
The company or industry not favorable?
Macro factors of the Malaysian economy?
A bit sad now...

I don't really celebrate this occasion, but any time is a perfect excuse to make the tummy happy!

I was formerly from the consumer goods industry before I became a small business owner. As such, compared to other industries, it's much easier for me to understand the fundamentals and macro dynamics of this industry.
These are on my watchlist (more like wish list) of stocks for option income and long-term capital gains.
$PayPal (PYPL.US)$
$MetLife (MET.US)$
$Grab Holdings (GRAB.US)$
$Robinhood (HOOD.US)$

Haha, luckily, I don't celebrate this, so this liquidation is for my year-end trip to Africa!
