What are the chances in this case that the buyer will exercise their rights to buy? I did not anticipate the price of this ETF to rise this much (tomorrow is ex-date. After that, it might drop again). I am reluctant to do a calendar spread because this is a short-term holding, but i also don't want to lose it right now.

My 6-month probation (Started on 6 June) period is coming to an end (7 Dec 2024), so it's time for an evaluation.
Old believes debunked
1) I used to (naively) think that dividen stocks is my ticket to easy investing. WBA, STLA, EC, VALE were some of the stocks I bought into heavily and ended up very disappointed. The USD devaluation and the 30% WHT only made things worse.
2) The need to fill up the portfolio asap once I decided on my starting capital. There was a ...

I enjoyed the game. It gave me the opportunity to pay closer attention to certain stocks, increasing my confidence along the way.
I look forward to more of such events. I will be more prepared next time after this experience.

Having grown up in a rural town where most people were farmers and am currently in a small way involved in promoting farm products, I have the natural instinct to be interested in agriculture-related stocks.

I bought $HAPSENG (3034.MY)$ right when I stated my investment journey just going by it's dividend yield (back then, I didn't apply TA and FA, now I do).
It did not recover after the price crash in 2023, and there is a lack of interest in this share looking at the trading volume. Why?
It's a very diversified business for a mid-cap company.
But 3 out of the top.4 business segments suffered losses in 2023 - Plantation, Auto, and tTading. Growth cam from Building M...

Turns out, I'm a better investor in papertrade (beats S&P) than in real life, but I'm amongst the worst compared to my peers (grew my portfolio by 3.7% when the top 5 grew by at least 300% at the regional level).
If this is an indication of real-life performance, the stock market should remain as a hobby for me and not something too serious.
And, not to fool myself, the only reason I beat the S&P was because there is no 30% WHT for dividend, and the fees ar...

Unless you are a high income earner (top 10% in the corporate world), or own a highly profitable business, or inherited a lot of wealth, you'd probably need to use investment as a vehicle to grow your wealth.
Investment is very broad. What's relevant to me is the money market, equity market, land, business initiatives, and in people itself (bright people who need help in starting a business). So you would h...

I survived 6 months in the market. Not thriving, as I'm still in the red, but at a much lower rate.
A high tide rise all ships (is that how it's said?), I have some BTC related ETFs, so my ship rose as well.
On paper, I recovered a lot of what I lost in USD devaluation (Aug & Sept); compare my current Position PNL compared to just 2 weeks ago Nov '24 Profit/ Loss sharing #1 .
But, how much of it is a mirage, and how much of it reflects the true value of the asse...

My first reverse stock split experience!
I bought this inversed ETF as a sort of insurance against a market crash and to practice option trading. When the price approached $6+ (bought it at $7+), a 5-to-1 reverse split happened. My active covered call contract vanished, and I no longer have 100 stocks to option trade.
Well, let's wait.

CNNT OP MillionDollarDivSeek : I should have given more context that tmr is the ex-date, hence the buying frenzy, I'm 90% sure it will dip after that. The premium is way higher than the dividend, so it's not worth buying back.
