SmartSave

1. What is SmartSave?

SmartSave is a wealth management service launched by Moomoo Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

With SmartSave, idle cash in your Moomoo MY Universal Account will be used to buy Cash Plus automatically on each business day. Your Cash Plus holdings will add to your buying power to trade stocks, subscribe to Malaysian IPO shares, and buy funds (other than Cash Plus), and will be auto-redeemed to cover deficits (if any) in your universal account.

2. How to activate SmartSave?

Path: Accounts > Universal Account page > Funds > Activate SmartSave.

3. When will the idle cash in my account be used to buy Cash Plus?

After SmartSave is activated, MYR idle cash in your Universal Account will be used to buy Cash Plus automatically at 07:00 AM on each business day.

4. How to pause SmartSave-Buy?

Path: Accounts > Universal Account page > Funds > Manage SmartSave.

You can pause SmartSave-Buy for 3 days/5 days/7 days/10 days, or continuously. When SmartSave-Buy is paused, your idle funds will remain in your account and will not be auto-invested in Cash Plus.

5. Can I keep a certain amount of cash in my Universal Account?

You can set a Amount Reserved for your account, and only the rest will be used to buy Cash Plus.

Suppose you have 1,000 MYR idle cash in your account and set a Amount Reserved of 400 MYR.

Only 600 MYR of your idle cash will be used to buy Cash Plus.

Mobile APP: Accounts > Universal Account page > Funds > Manage SmartSave > Product.

6. How to deactivate SmartSave-Sell?

Path: Accounts > Universal Account page > Funds > Manage SmartSave.

If your account has a deficit, you will need to repay it and ensure the assets in your account can cover your current margin requirements and frozen funds before deactivating SmartSave-Sell.

7. How does SmartSave-Sell work?

SmartSave-Sell will check your asset status daily at 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM. If there is any deficit in any currency in your account, SmartSave-Sell will redeem an equivalent amount of Cash Plus for you. If you have multiple Cash Plus holdings, they will be redeemed in order of the lowest to the highest 7-day annualized return at the time of redemption.

8. Why can't I use 100% of my Cash Plus holdings for trading after activating SmartSave-Sell?

You can use only 95% of your Cash Plus holdings for trading due to the fluctuations in the fund's net asset value and foreign exchange rates.

9. Can I use Cash Plus holdings as buying power when trading Malaysian stocks?

Yes. Once your account has margin trading enabled and SmartSave-Sell activated, you can use 95% of your Cash Plus holdings as buying power for trading.

After a transaction, we will redeem the equivalent amount of Cash Plus for you at 7:00 AM on the next calendar day. The redemption amount includes the investment amount in the Malaysian stock and trading fees.

10. Can I use Cash Plus holdings as buying power when participating in Malaysian IPOs?

Yes. Once your account has margin trading enabled and SmartSave-Sell activated, you can use 95% of your Cash Plus holdings as buying power for participating in IPOs.

After you subscribe to an IPO, we will redeem the equivalent amount of Cash Plus for you at 7:00 AM on the next calendar day. The redemption amount will be the frozen amount for the IPO.

14. Could interest still be incurred after activating SmartSave-Sell?

In most scenarios, SmartSave-Sell can redeem Cash Plus before asset settlement to avoid interest charges. However, there are some scenarios where interest may still be incurred for one to several days:

● Exchange rate fluctuations

● Deduction of ADR fees

● Exercise of US stock options

● Margin requirements for short US stock positions

You can set a Amount Reserved (see Question 6) to allocate sufficient funds to your account in advance.

15. Can I withdraw my Cash Plus holdings?

Cash Plus holdings cannot be withdrawn directly. You need to redeem them manually, pause SmartSave-Buy, and send a withdrawal request after the redeemed amount hits your account.
